Phoebe Nir's play, "ECO VILLAGE", had a critically acclaimed production off-Broadway in 2019. She has been received at the White House by Barack Obama as a Presidential Scholar of the Arts in Writing, and was nominated for the prestigious Pushcart Prize for Literary Fiction. She is currently collaborating with illustrator Steve Buccellato on a graphic novel. Her work in musical theatre has been showcased in New York City at Joe's Pub, Feinstein's 54 Below, LaMaMa Theater, and the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop. She is currently developing an original musical theater adventure trilogy, "Diana & Navy & The Golden Tooth", with composer Tomás Doncker, and released her critically acclaimed EPs "Side Hustle" and "Red Tape Nation" through True Groove Records. She was recently featured in an official SXSW showcase, opening for James Chance & The Contortions and The Modern English, and her short film "Marcus's Sweater", directed by Chidi Ozieh, was an official selection of the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. Phoebe is a proud member-at-large of the Bread and Puppet Theater, a hardcore Gilbert and Sullivan nerd, and a certified yoga instructor.
